posted on 2017-01-11 23:00:00I've come across a wonderful story that has happened a long time ago at Bell labs. They basically bought a Linotype typesetting machine shortly before the arrival of laser printers. After they realized that Linotype would not provide them with information how to create their own fonts for the device they started to disassemble the whole software and recreate it from scratch. They succeeded but the technical report they wrote could not get published due to serious concerns by their lawyers. A long time after the engineers recreated the technical report and documented the process of creating it as well.

Looks like there will be another training break for me. On Thursday I will get two teeth out and the wound has to heal before I can train again. A bit annoying but I look forward to having that thing finally off my list.
Maybe I'll find some time while recovering to do something in the fields of Lisp programming or guitar playing.
